Your TNW Weekly Recap - 6/14/2026
Published 19 days ago • 3 min read
Writing to you from beautiful Big Sky, Montana today! I've been away for the past few days on a non-work related trip for once and enjoying every second of resetting.
If you have not been to Big Sky or Yellowstone, I would now rank it as a must do in everyone's lifetime. The natural beauty here is just unmatched and while you can take some incredible pictures here, they are just no match for the sheer scale of stunning views in real life.
Part of this trip is to reset mentally as we start to get into strategic planning time for The New Warehouse when conference travel is minimal and there is time to reflect on the activities we did in the spring. I'm sure many of you that I see on the conference circuit have the same mindset!
As we start to think about what's working and what else we could do with The New Warehouse, I'd love to hear from you on what you like and maybe most importantly what you don't like. We've gone through many evolutions over the years as we've expanded beyond just a podcast but I believe there are still many things we could do to serve the warehouse industry and who better to understand that from than you, the industry. So feel free to reply to this email and let me know!
I've got my own ideas that have me excited for the second half of the year and 2027 but would love to hear your ideas too.
One of those ideas is expanding upon The Warehouse Innovators Community. Something I've been working on fairly quietly over the last few months. We've got a good group of operators in there and I'm looking to add the next wave as we start to roll out community exclusive content. If you are an operator and you're curious about what is possible within your four walls, send me a note and I'll extend an invite to you if it's a right fit.
In this episode of The New Warehouse Podcast, Kevin speaks with Matthew Smith, Senior Product Manager at Dexory. Dexory is a warehouse intelligence platform that combines autonomous robotics and software to help warehouses improve visibility across their operations.
The conversation focuses on Dexory Storage Health, which recently earned Best New Innovation recognition at MODEX.
Tuesday's Episode - AutoStore Innovations & Choosing an Integrator with Kardex
In this episode of The New Warehouse podcast live from MODEX 2026, Kevin sits down with Brian Quigley from Kardex. They dive into the world of Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and discuss the specific value an integrator brings to the table compared to going straight to a manufacturer. Brian also highlights how Kardex is innovating within the AutoStore ecosystem to maximize warehouse uptime and efficiency.
In this video, we cover:
The Role of an Integrator: Brian explains how integrators navigate complex networks by combining best-in-class automation (like AutoStore) with conveyors, AMRs, and the software needed to tie it all together.
How to Choose an Integrator: Learn the three crucial factors for selecting the right partner: finding someone who understands your specific operational constraints, ensuring their software seamlessly integrates with your existing ERP or WMS, and guaranteeing long-term, knowledgeable customer support.
New Kardex Innovations: Discover new technologies like SnapVac, an automated vacuum that cleans the AutoStore grid during off-hours to boost system uptime.
Intuitive Pick Assist (IPA): A look at how Kardex leverages AI and 3D cameras to project essential information directly to operators, improving picking efficiency and ergonomics.

Wednesday's Episode - Using Supply Chain Technology to Drive Operational Excellence
Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits is the world's largest wine and spirits wholesaler, serving 47 markets across the United States, Canada, and beyond. For this episode of The New Warehouse Podcast, Kevin mixes it up with Karli Sage, Vice President of Supply Chain Management Technology and Engineering at Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits.
Together, they discuss how to approach warehouse technology and automation to improve inventory visibility. The discussion highlights the unique challenges of managing thousands of SKUs, maintaining inventory accuracy, and scaling innovation across a complex distribution network.
Thursday's Episode - ASRS Explained: VLMs, ROI, and Workforce Benefits with SencorpWhite & Integrated Systems Design
At MODEX 2026, Kevin from The New Warehouse Podcast speaks with Corey Calla, President and CEO of SencorpWhite, and Bob Jones of Integrated Systems Design (ISD) about automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS). Corey explains ASRS as automated put-away and retrieval technology and describes SencorpWhite’s focus on using vertical warehouse space with solutions like VLMs and carousels. He details how VLMs work, including dynamic storage that measures tray height to optimize capacity, and highlights benefits such as improved ergonomics, security, and traceability.
Corey and Bob caution against overhauling processes too quickly when adopting automation. Bob discusses ISD’s role as a systems integrator and the importance of providing manufacturers the right operational data. They outline ROI considerations beyond simple payback, including NPV/IRR, infrastructure needs, labor stability, retention, and labor availability.
This is quite the late recap from last week but I was on a road trip with my son through Wednesday as we went from NJ to Chicago to hit the Pokemon exhibit at The Field Museum. We also hit Bucc-ee's for the first time on our way through Ohio. What a crazy experience, it was absolutely mobbed with people. The brisket sandwich was good though! I wanted to send out this note and let you know that we have been working on how to evolve what we do from an email content perspective. Currently, we...
Just a reminder that I am going live today at 11am EST with Rueben Scriven of Interact Analysis to talk about warehouse automation trends coming out of the first half of the year. Join us on LinkedIn or YouTube. Bring your questions! If you can't make it but have questions, reply to this email and let me know. You'll be able to watch the replay later. Have a great day! Thank you, Kevin
First off, Happy Father's Day to the Dad's out there! I enjoyed mine with my son and my father the past two days. It's certainly my most enjoyable role to date! Coming up this week we've got two special events that I want to make sure you are aware of: Warehousing After Dark (virtual) is happening this Tuesday (6/23) at 8pm EST. If you've been on the fence about attending, it's an incredibly laidback atmosphere and everyone is there to just hang out. No constant pitching, no hunger to close...
